The HTRS 2025 Scientific Symposium (HTRS 2025) is a platform for disseminating original clinical, discovery-based, and translational science research in hemostasis and thrombosis. This meeting is designed for professionals at all career levels. HTRS 2025 fosters an inclusive environment encouraging collaboration, learning, and the exchange of ideas among HTRS members and others interested in advancing the field.

 

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION


HTRS welcomes abstract submissions focusing on clinical care and discovery-based research related to disorders of hemostasis and thrombosis from a diverse range of professionals, including:

  • Physician Scientists working in academic medicine or industry
  • Discovery-based Scientists
  • Trainees (Students/Residents/Fellows)
  • Advanced Practice Providers (Nurse Practitioners/Physician Assistants/Midwives/Pharmacists/PharmDs)
  • Other Research Professionals (not categorized above)      

Authors of accepted abstracts may be invited for oral and/or poster presentations during the meeting. Accepted abstracts will be published in Research and Practice in Thrombosis and Haemostasis (RPTH) the open access journal of the International Society on Thrombosis and Haemostasis (ISTH), which provides a dedicated home for scientific discourse among researchers, clinicians, advanced practice providers, and patients.

The HTRS Board of Directors and the HTRS 2025 Planning Committee are deeply committed to fostering diversity and inclusion for the meeting and the Society at large. We actively encourage submissions from individuals from diverse backgrounds, races, ethnicities, genders, sexual orientations, disabilities, nationalities, and career stages. We are committed to providing an inclusive platform for exchanging ideas and welcome abstract submissions that reflect the rich diversity of the hemostasis and thrombosis community.


SUBMISSION DEADLINE

  • HTRS 2025 ABSTRACT SUBMISSION DEADLINE EXTENDED: October 25, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET
  • Abstracts cannot be revised or resubmitted after this deadline
  • Abstracts must be submitted online: Abstract Submission Portal
  • Accepted abstracts will be published exactly as submitted. (Authors may make corrections or updates to their posters after the abstract submission deadline, but not to the abstracts themselves.)
  • Late abstracts will not be accepted. The submission link will be deactivated on October 19, 2024, 12:00 AM ET

ABSTRACT TRAVEL AWARDS


Travel Awards for HTRS 2025 will be offered to the first authors of exceptional abstracts submitted by trainees, early-career investigators, advanced practice providers, and North American submitters outside the US. Abstract reviewers will select Travel Award recipients' abstracts for presentation as oral or poster presentations during the conference.

 

AWARD SUMMARY

  • HTRS Travel Awards cover travel expenses including airfare, ground transportation, and meals on travel days, up to a maximum of $750 USD
  • Recipients of Travel Awards also receive two (2) nights of hotel accommodations and waived meeting registration fees, all sponsored by HTRS. Each individual is limited to receiving one award
  • Presenting author(s) will be invited to moderate a roundtable discussion during the HTRS/Genentech "Best of HTRS" Networking Event on Thursday, March 13, 2025
  • Presenting author(s) will be invited to the Awards Dinner on Friday, March 14, 2025, to be recognized during the awards programming


HTRS will offer awards to applicants who meet the following criteria: 

  • At least six (6) awards will be given to first authors of the highest-scoring abstracts submitted by trainees or early-stage investigators working at non-commercial institutions (please refer to the definition of "trainees" and "early-stage investigators" below)
  • Up to two (2) awards will be given to first authors of abstracts submitted by advanced practice providers at any stage in their careers, working at a non-commercial institution
  • Up to two (2) awards will be given to first authors of an abstract submitted by individuals who qualify as an underrepresented minority (Notice of NIH's Interest in Diversity) at any stage in their careers, working at a non-commercial institution
  • Up to two (2) awards will be given to the first authors of abstracts submitted by an undergraduate student at any stage in his/her career, working at a non-commercial institution
  • Up to one (1) award will be given to the first author of an abstract submitted by an investigator at any stage of his/her career from North or Central America, working at a non-commercial institution


ORAL PRESENTATIONS FOR TRAVEL AWARD RECIPIENTS

  • HTRS abstract reviewers will select abstracts from Travel Award recipients to be presented during one of five oral abstract sessions during the meeting
  • Recipients of a Travel Award selected for oral presentation must be the first author of the abstract
  • Presenting authors will have a maximum of 10 minutes presentation time, with an additional 5 minutes allocated for Q&A immediately following
  • Details regarding oral abstract presentations and instructions for preparing slides will be provided to the presenting author in December 2024, along with instructions for poster presentations
  • Abstracts selected for oral presentation may also be presented as posters during the meeting
